How to block a number on an iPhone

Blocking a phone number on an iPhone is a straightforward process. Here are the steps to block a number:

Method 1: Block a Number from Recent Calls or Messages:

Blocking a Number from Recent Calls:

1. Open the "Phone" app on your iPhone.

2. Go to the "Recents" tab at the bottom.

3. Find the phone number you want to block and tap the (i) information icon next to it.

4. Scroll down and tap on "Block this Caller."

 Blocking a Number from Messages:

1. Open the "Messages" app.

2. Open the conversation with the person whose number you want to block.

3. Tap the (i) information icon in the upper right corner.

4. Scroll down and tap on "Block this Caller."

Method 2: Block a Number from Settings:

1. Open the "Settings" app on your iPhone.

2. Scroll down and tap on "Phone" (for calls) or "Messages" (for texts).

What Happens When You Block a Number:

- Phone Calls: When you block a number, it won't be able to call you, and you won't see any notifications for calls from that number. The caller will hear a busy signal or be redirected to voicemail.

- Messages: Blocked numbers won't be able to send you messages, and their texts will not be delivered to your phone. However, they won't be notified that they are blocked.

 Unblock a Number:

If you want to unblock a number, follow these steps:

1. Open the "Settings" app.

2. Scroll down and tap on "Phone" or "Messages."

3. Under the Calls or Messages section, tap on "Blocked Contacts."

4. Swipe left on the contact you want to unblock and tap "Unblock."

Keep in mind that the steps might slightly vary depending on your iOS version. If you're using a newer version, make sure to check the specific instructions for your software.
